Stan Hegt is Co-Founder and Red Team Lead at Outflank, part of the Fortra family, where he specializes in red teaming and advanced attack simulation. With over 15 years of experience in offensive security, Stan began his career in ethical hacking at age 15 before earning a master’s degree in Information Security Technology in 2008. He then joined KPMG, where he led the red team for KPMG Netherlands and conducted security assessments across diverse industries including banking, military, and energy sectors.
Stan co-founded Outflank in 2016 to focus on red teaming and attack simulation services. This eventually led to the creation of Outflank Security Tooling (OST), a cutting edge toolset that enables other red teams to deploy advanced threat emulations with reduced operational complexity. His expertise lies in researching real‑world adversary tradecraft and creating tooling that simulates emerging attack methods, evasion strategies, and novel TTPs. In his role, he contributes to the team development of advanced offensive tooling that enhances red‑team capabilities and strengthens organizational detection and response across the kill chain.
