Marc Smeets is Co-Founder and Red Team Operator at Outflank, part of the Fortra family, specializing in infrastructure security and network protocol exploitation. He holds a master’s degree in System and Network Engineering along with industry certifications including MCSE and CCNP. Marc spent over seven years with KPMG Netherlands’ security team, where he conducted hundreds of penetration tests across multiple continents, assessed networks and applications, trained security professionals, and presented findings to executive leadership.
Marc co-founded Outflank in 2016 to deliver advanced red teaming and attack simulation services. His technical expertise focuses on infrastructure layers, including network and routing protocols, Active Directory, and operating systems, combined with a strong emphasis on researching emerging technologies and attack techniques to ensure realistic adversary emulation.
